CEO Sleepout Darlington 2024
Paul Bannister
My Story
I'm joining compassionate people again for my second CEO Sleepout. I will be joining people from across Darlington for an unforgettable but very cold and probably wet night beneath the stars. I will be sleeping out in Mowden Park Arena, raising funds for people facing adverse poverty and homelessness in the Darlington area.
Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and your commitment to making the world a better place for everyone.
I am doing this also to raise awareness of the work ManHealth do in providing support and advocacy to any man who is struggling.
- Just over three out of four suicides (76%) are by men and suicide is the biggest cause of death for men under 35 (Reference: ONS)
- 12.5% of men in the UK are suffering from one of the common mental health disorders
- Men are nearly three times more likely than women to become alcohol dependent (8.7% of men are alcohol dependent compared to 3.3% of women (Health and Social Care Information Centre)
- Men are more likely to use (and die from) illegal drugs
- Men are less likely to access psychological therapies than women.
- 73% of adults who ‘go missing’ are men (Reference: University of York).
- 87% of rough sleepers are men (Reference: Crisis).
ManHealth is committed to supporting men in these vulnerable situations, offering a hand to help them find their way back to stability.
I don’t ask often, but today I’m asking for your help. Please donate generously and make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and your commitment to making the world a better place for everyone.
