Robert Wells
My Story
On any given night in The UK, it is estimated that nearly 4,600 people are sleeping rough, an increasing percentage of these people, are Pensioners!
50 years ago, I regularly slept outside, in appalling conditions, mud filled trenches, frozen fields and windswept mountain sides. On one occasion, even waking up with a river running through my sleeping bag!
The difference between my experience then and the thousands of people who tonight will be sleeping rough, is that I was paid to be uncomfortable, by The Queen!
I was an highly trained professional soldier.
On 23rd March this year, I will be joining other senior executives, sleeping outside all night, with only a sleeping bag for protection.
I am raising money for Porchlight, a wonderful charity working towards ending Homelessness, whilst supporting these vulnerable people who currently have no safe place to call home.
As an Army Veteran, I will be donating a percentage of my Army Pension, for 10 months this year to Porchlight, in support of the amazing work that they are doing to rid our society of this social injustice.

With Best wishes and Many thanks.
