My Story
I'm joining compassionate people from across London for an unforgettable night beneath the stars. I will be sleeping out in Lords Cricket Ground, raising funds for people facing adverse poverty and homelessness in the London area.
When I turned 20 I faced a similar prospect as I had left the house just before my birthday and with very little. There was a point that I didn't know where my next meal was going to come from and while that was just one month it was scary and it was hard. I planned to sleep in my car (which I didn't know how I was going to continue paying for) and had to create my contingency plans and start figuring out how to survive. As luck would have it at the end of that month I managed to find a job and just had to survive and make it to the end of the next month till I got paid. That experience, while a month or so was enough to make me understand and taught me empathy as I was on the brink of homelessness. So yeah this is personal.
