My Story
On 23rd March, I'll be taking part in CEO Sleepout Kent alongside my co-founder Kim Rojas Powell at SHIFTwithin CIC, to raise vital funds for Oasis Domestic Abuse Service.
As a survivor of domestic abuse this also sits close to home for me and is part of what led me to this work, and why I care so deeply about ensuring no one has to face it alone.
As co-founder of SHIFTwithin CIC I see first-hand how quickly lives can unravel and how leaving a relationship, especially an abusive one, can mean losing not just a partner but a home, financial security and any sense of safety.
The connection between domestic abuse and homelessness is stark. For many survivors, the choice is between staying in danger or leaving with nowhere safe to go. Without specialist services, that choice can become impossible.
Oasis Domestic Abuse Service provides exactly the kind of support that changes this through helping individuals and families move from crisis towards safety and stability. They are a lifeline for people in Kent who need it most.
This sleepout is an extension of my personal and professional commitment to stand in solidarity and raise funds for a service that saves lives.
If you are able to donate, however small the amount, you will be directly supporting survivors in Kent. And if you can share this page, that matters too.
Thank you, Tara
